HWASEUNG Enterprise commissions the Rooftop Solar at Unipax Vi Thanh!

HWASEUNG Enterprise is a signatory of the UNFCCC Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action and committed to reduce 50% of GHG emissions by 2030 over 2020 baseline. It is also committed to source 100% renewable energy for its manufacturing operations by 2030. Translating commitment into action, HWASEUNG Enterprise has signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CN Green Roof Asia (CN GRA) in April 2023 and completed the installation of an RTS at Unipax Vi Thanh as detailed below;  Capacity of RTS is 0.89 MWp  Annual Renewable Energy generation of 1231 MWh  Annual Carbon emission off-set of approx. 1,041 tCO2  Carbon saving is equivalent to 3,480 trees planted On this occasion of putting the RTS into operation on 25th December 2023, Mr. Darren Hamilton, ECOO of Apparel & Accessories said, “Sustainability is integral to HWASEUNG Enterprise and it is fully committed to Decarbonization of its operations. We will continue to secure renewable energy from all possible options in current regulatory situation.” The renewable energy generation from this on-site RTS is expected to fulfill 50% of electricity demand of Unipax VT. In addition to renewable energy, Unipax VT is also implementing the energy efficiency measures to reduce the carbon footprint of operations.
